Our Love Story Jessica +Joey proposal Carmel Wedding preparation
I am so fortunate that I met this wonderful man, who I would call my”Prince Charming” online on “Christian Mingle.”
Our story, I believe all happened according to God’s plan.
The proposal was very special, Joey whisked me away to the Central Coast to visit the location where I was going to shoot an upcoming Carmel wedding for Suzanne and Ryan at the
Basillica Mission… See all the photos from that wedding here.
We started out on the 17 mile drive, where I was sure that he was going to ask me.. (we had been dating for over a year now and had discussed that we were ready to talk about getting married.)

So, I had this sense that he was going to ask me this weekend! Here we were on the most picturesque drive that I could ever had imagined. Being a photographer, I took lots of pics along the way and kept thinking each time that we stopped that he was going to ask me… surely this was the spot, overlooking the ocean etc.
As the day went on, and time passed , I realized that he wasn’t going to ask me .. at least not yet.
He had told me that he wanted me to dress up for dinner, so again I thought TONIGHT he is going to ask me. The restaurant he chose was very romantic, my favorite an Italian restaurant, we ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir, also my favorite and enjoyed every last drop.

At this point, I was starting to wonder, maybe he isn’t going to ask me this weekend?
I was starting to get a little disappointed, my best friends were texting me asking me, ” did he ask you? “
I replied, “not yet, but that is ok, we had a wonderful time.”
The last day was the most beautiful day, it was actually the most sunny out of all the days.
We took a walk in the downtown Carmel area and browsed some Art gallery shops and enjoyed the pleasant weather.
I put on my lace dress, which was perfect for this warm weather and spent our last hours at a restaurant that Clint Eastwood owned.
We sat next to a fireplace outdoors and enjoyed the ambience and a nice meal. Then, it was time to leave and we got in the car to head back to Thousand Oaks.
As we were driving down the 1, we stopped along the way to enjoy the coastline and take pictures. .jpg)

We checked out Mcway Falls AMAZING!

As a photographer, I noticed a spot that a lot of tourists were at, and asked him to stop so we could take some pictures, he said that there was a better spot to stop at that was less crowded.
We stopped a little further down from the crowd and he asked me if I wanted to sit for a bit ?
I said sure, still not realizing what was about to happen.
Then , he got a blue blanket out and set it out where we were overlooking the beautiful water below.

Then he left for a moment and returned with a bottle of champagne and two glasses.
He handed me an empty glass and then, he switched them saying actually this is your GLASS.
I looked at the bottom of the glass and there was a DIAMOND ring at the bottom.
He took the ring and proposed to me right then and there! And of course , I said YES!

I am so EXCITED to come back to Carmel for the wedding of Suzanne and Ryan in just a couple months!
